So I'm getting a bit worried that I'm losing weight too fast. As a matter of fact when I punched in my weight at "My Lap Band Journey" it told me as much. I have lost about 27 lbs in three weeks. I am one week post-op and 15 of those pounds have been in the past week. I am trying very hard to drink my Protein but I get so full off of very little! I think I'm getting in about 35g of Protein. I am able to stomach a bit more liquid now so I will try and drink more... anybody have an issue with this?

I am about 200lbs overweight so I'm not complaining, but I want to do this right! I am abnormally tired in the early evenings so I know I'm not getting enough energy in me... would appreciate any advice. Particularly if you have recommendations on Protein shakes that pack a bit more punch than the 17g per shake EAS Advantage Edge: Carb Control shakes I'm drinking now.

You are prob losing so fast because of liquid diet. It will taper off when u start eating again. Mention it to your doc at next appointment- but I don't think u really need to worry

Given the amount of weight you have to loose it will come off fast at first. I would just keep pushing as much Protein as you can. I started out at 304 and had surgery 4/4/11 and I am down 113 pounds in six months with only 31 left till goal. It did come off fast at first, but has slowed down to about 10 a month now. You will feel a lot better when you start eating, believe it or not you would have more energy if you got out and walked often it does make a difference. (a least with me it did)

There is a brand called powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury that is fabulous. It has 20-23g of protein per scoop (depending on the flavor), but it is so thin, you can easily double up. I put two scoops in one cup of milk every morning.

The weight loss- it is very very normal right after surgery. It'll stop.

I personally use this: http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Standard-Double-Chocolate/dp/B000QSNYGI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318195419&sr=8-1

24g Protein, only 3g carbs. Mix it with milk to get more Protein. Remember if you take in more than 30 grams of protein per "meal" your body can't process it so don't bother looking for something with 40, 50g of protein per serving.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
