New here...looking into Banding

Hi, my name is Julia and I'm just beginning the research into having this procedure done. I am currently 234 pounds at 5'7" tall. I'm not even sure that I qualify for the procedure...I'm thinking about seeing a doctor. Just in the beginning of my fact finding mission, I guess.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here, and I'm hoping that this is the beginning of the end of stuggling with my weight, which has been a lifetime issue for me.

Take Care,

Julia

Hey there Julia, welcome to the board.

Different doctors have different restrictions. A lot depends on co-morbidities and BMI.

There are likely seminars in your local area, check them out - they are a wealth of information and you'll likely meet the people you can work with (the surgeons).

Best of luck!

I second that Welcome and all Dawg said. Good luck in your search for answers about your weight challenges. We all know how difficult it is to carry that burden.

Well, your BMI is 36.6, so if you have a co-morbidity or two you would almost certainly qualify. From the surgeon's point of view anyway, don't know about the insurance - most insurance companies try to get out of paying for this.

I'm so happy I got this surgery... my weight is slowly coming off and I finally have hope of being "normal" weight-wise again.

Good luck with your research!

hey Julia....(((((welcome)))))

smiles and hope to see ya around.....today is my first day posting and I was met with some of the nicest people on the block.

smiles....diane : )
