Hi, I am new to this site. I have my initial consult coming up and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Pacificare ***. I was really surprised that I was approved for this consult since they had denied my initial request to see a dietician?! I am excited and nervous at the prospect of possible banding, yet extremely worried that they will deny me the surgery. Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome. I do not know why they block it out but I have seen it before. I worked with medical insurace and biling for several years. Pacificare is a tough one but I think if you follow their rules to a T you should be good.

be sure that they cover surgery for weight loss==not just consultations. Keep us posted on your progress. I would also encourage you to work with a Center of Excellence in your area if possible.

Oh thank you, what is a center of excellence? And I will check out coverage. I assumed if they approved the consult that meant they just approve the surgery.
