Ok this is going to sound weird....do your feet get smaller in size (not width) when you lose weight???? I don't want to get my hopes up, I'm a size 11!!!!

I have/had a lot to lose 150# altogether to reach goal so I asked my surgeon about that and he said to expect to go down 1 or 2 sizes as well as moving to normal width so I am holding off on new shoes for a bit :P

I can say that I have to lace the ol tennies a little tighter and there is now more toe room with the 50#'s I have lost so far so I think i'll be needing some new Nike's

Yes, you can go down up to two sizes depending on your current size and normal Fluid retention in your feet. Most of the weight is actually fluid and not fat in the feet.

Yes, I went from a women's size 12W to a 10R when I went from 329 lbs to 214 lbs back in 2009. So yeah, expect to buy smaller sized shoes when you lose more and more weight! Amazing isn't it? LOL

I really hope my feet shrink in width. I really don't care about length really. My feet are wide and I have a he'll of time finding shoes/sneakers that are comfortable. I even had to get men's rollerblades just do I'd have a little more width. And I still get a blister on my foot everytime I wear them. I've lost 47# (I think) since banding and over 100# since my highest weight and I don't believe they've shrunk yet

I'm 5'9 so I have big honking feet as it is. I started having to wear an 11, now...almost 50lbs down...I can wear a 10W or a 10R. I don't think I'll go down much smaller than that. Even when I weighed 155lbs back in the day I was a size 10. My dad always used to tell me I could just wear the boxes from his new shoes...nice guy. blink.giflaugh.gif

As my sister says we have platypus feet. She is a normal size person and takes wides. My nephews even as small thin children had wide feet. We got it from both sides of the family so no matter how thin we may be we take wide shoes. GRRRR

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
