If you were on a pre-op liquid diet, then you've only had liquids for quite a while now. Maybe there's no more solids in you? I honestly don't remember getting diarrhea post-op, but I don't think you need to worry unless you start feeling really sick or get a fever.

Take care!

I had my surger on 6/6 and haven't had anything but diarrhea. So I sure hope it is not a bad sign. Just keep up with the water-which I am also having a problem with.

Congrats. on the surgery and enjoy the weight loss.

I was on the liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery and had this problem the entire time. Maybe it will go away when you gets solids. If you are worried, give your doc a call.

liquids in = liquids out!

I get that problem from the whey-based protein powders and shakes...maybe try egg or soy-based ones and see if it goes away.

It can very well be the high liquid intake, but do not disregard it!

Beware if your:

  • Evacuations are copious
  • Evacuations smell 'more' than normal
  • Evacuations last more than 48hrs

If you experience any of this, head to your PCP.

I think that you are probably experiencing loose bowels, as opposed to diarrhea. I had very loose bowels while only taking in liquids. Beef broth made me have to run. As the op said, liquids in, liquids out. I think that you are fine, but if you are worried, call your surgeon's office. Karen
