How many incisions do you have?

I was prepared for 5 incisions. When I woke up and picked down on my tummy I saw 6! Even on my discharge paers they had to cross out the pre-written 5 incisions and make it 6. I am wondering if the doc . made one where he shouldn't have! They are nice neat incisions and 2 of them are larger than the rest. I guess the on on my left upper side is the port because that hurt the most after surgery.

Just curious-how many incisions do you have?

I have 5 Holes for the rods, and 1 incision about 1 1/2 inches long for the Port.

Yes, I got my book yesterday.. I read it until 1:00 in the morning. I agree that it is very well written with a lot of information.

Thanks for the tip.

Okay, I don't feel so bad! I asked the doc what the larger one near my belly button was and he said that's where they inserted a camera. I have a sad looking belly button-it actually looks like a sad face-I can't wait until it looks like it's whistling a tune!!

Dave-you really made me feel better!!

Weesie, did your book come yet?

Great I am glad you found it interesting! She writes in a funny way and it's a "go to" book when you have questions about something.

I have 3 incisions - 1/2" cut below my breasts in the middle of my chest, a 2 1/2 - 3" incision on the left side abdomen, and directly across from that one another 1/2" cut.

I have 6. I was prepared for 5 also, but woke up and was told that I had 6. No big deal. 3 of them are so tiny that it looks like I got scratched there. I think that sometimes in order to see better, the doc has to make more holes. And you can always ask your doc about it :)

I had to count mine! Could not remember for sure. Could only find 3 at first, because they've all faded so much. But then I found the other two. So I have five.

My hubby kindly offered to give me another if I wanted. Thanks Hun! blink.gif

I went to my PCP the other day, and she was impressed with the WL. She said "CAN I SEE YOUR PORT?' She couldn't find it... It has all faded so much that I was looking for it, then found it for her to see. Almost 5 yrs. since surgery, and you can barely see it. I would say easily about 90% vanished.

I had 5. 4 were the size of a pencil. The one for the port was quarter size.

I have 2, one in between my breast on the bra line thats really small, I can see it fading away without any problems and one actually in my belly button. I don't see a line where the incision was only that my belly button looks a little crazyblink.gif
