Diarrhea

Hello Anyone,

My husband and I was both banded in Jan of 2011 my question to anyone is I have a hard time going #2 and he has had diarrhea. Any ideas on what might be causing it? He drinks a lot of Water where as I try to get down 32 oz of liquid. It seems for him it doesn't matter what he eats he's spending a lot of time on the pot. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks

Dawnzy

water would definately help you go to the bathroom.

Not getting enough fluid is definitely going to cause some issues when trying to go, but my question is for your hubby. Does he have cramping with the diarrhea or is it just the diarrhea? Is he eating sugar-free foods with sorbitol? My hubby used to do that, until he realized that some of those sugar-free chocolates and other things are like laxatives. If there is cramping with it, he needs to see his PCP, probably not band related, but should be checked out. Has he tried Immodium? Or does he eat a lot of processed meat? Because that can cause some interesting bowel issues as well for some people.

He don't have cramping but his body sure is making noises, He drinks propel do you think that could cause it? Not to much process food. I have still been cooking our meals like before but using leaner meats. He isn't eating near as much as he use to. I'll get him Immodium and give it a try. He has been doing using Pepto Bismol

What they say is liquids in liquid out. It fairly normal. Let your doctor know how both of you feeling. If he is using whey protein he ,ay want to try soy or hemp protein instead.
