I was banded on march 9th. I crushed mine for about 2 weeks, and got tired of it so I just started taking them normally, and I have not had a problem. My 1st fill will be on Thursday so I will have to let you know if that changes anything! Hope not, I really hate crushing meds lol

My doc says anything that is mult-vitamin size or larger must be crushed. I take Synthroid and it is small and does not need to be crushed.

My Dr. showed me a "pill" about the size of a round tylenol pill, and said crush everything else, lol Well Metformin is way bigger, but so far I am OK. :o Hope it stays that way!! lol

I agree with the rest - take them normally.

I WAS TOLD NOT TO TAKE THEM WHOLE CAUSE IT WILL DETERIATE THE BAND

My surgeon said I could swallow pills no problem, just don't swallow a whole bunch at once.

I always swallow pills with no problem. I've had 3 fills.

you'll know if it's too big!! it won't go down.

But most pills are fine... I have no issues taking tylenol or my prescriptions... I can't swallow a multi-Vitamin so I keep using the children's chewables.

I WAS TOLD NOT TO TAKE THEM WHOLE CAUSE IT WILL DETERIATE THE BAND

Did they explain how that could happen? The band is outside the stomach.

Large pills can get stuck in the stoma. That hurts, had it happen. I take pills as large as a multi-vitamin with no problem.
