My surgery was on Monday the 14th and I go back to work tomorrow Monday the 21st. I feel great, but I really dread going back to work. I think I have spring fever lol. I live Ga. and the last few days the weather has been amazing! I wish I had taken FMLA instead of vacation I could have probably squeezed at least another week out of it. Oh well! I am a little worried about the liquid diet that I am on. I have a desk job in a busy office and sometimes bathroom breaks are few and far between if you know what I mean (liquid in liquid out).

I can certainly relate to the Spring fever and i have online classes....but ever since my surgery 2/28/2011. I can't seem to get it together...but lately I've been reassuring myself that I'm still working on my health family and career......Anyway the best of luck and success with your band, family and career.....

Grammy.....I live in Georgia as well. I was banded on 3/15. I'm scheduled to go back to work tomorrow as well, but I'm thinking about staying out a little longer. I just don't feel real well. I travel with my job and I"m on my feet a lot throughout the day. I'm afraid I'm gonna over do it and be down. I haven't felt well yesterday and today. I think I'm so sick of liquids that I'm somewhat depressed. Tomorrow is day 6 and I think I'm gonna go ahead and start Cream of Wheat. I've lost 18 pounds since my surgery Tuesday and I"m very excited about that....but I'm just frustrated with the post op diet!! Ok, now I'm just whining....Sorry.

Congrats on the weight loss and I feel your pain on the liquid diet. I have lost 15 pounds since my surgery. I am also dying to eat something with some texture. I am having a hard time with protien shakes I can not stand any I have tried and believe me I have tried so many in different flavors and still not one that I can say tastes good at this point I would settle for ok. Sorry the whining must be catching lol. Good luck with your journey and I wish you much success!

Thank God I was on mushies when I went back to work. Talk about not being able to go to the bathroom when you need to.....I'm a teacher - can't leave a roomful of kids to go potty.

I hear you. I was banded on 3/10 and I went back to work last thursday. My first day back was one of the longest days I have had there. I was just tired and wanted to go home. I recommend taking it slow. My boss know about the band and I worked out a little arrangement with her. I broke my lunch up into two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. If your boss knows about your surgery ask him/her about taking an extra break here and there or seeing if they can manipulate your lunch time too. Keeping up on fluids is important so hopefully your boss will be on board.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
