Liquids Question

I have my list of approved Clear liquids for post surgery diet week 1, which includes: Water, sugar free Jello and popsicles, broth, milk, Protein powder....etc.

So my surgery is Friday and I only have a liquid diet the day before, I'm wondering if the pre-made Protein shakes are fine for liquids? I know they said the clear liquid list was fine, but it only says powder...however milk is on there and I would think the pre-made ones are water, milk, and powder with some extra goodies. Any thoughts?

I can only tell you what I did. I went back and forth between shakes I made with whey Isolate powder (and fat free milk) and Premier Brand Ready to Drink Protein Shake from Costco.

I think you're okay, just be sure to pick a good RTD. Keep an eye on the sugars/sodium in them.

RTD? I bought Pure Protein, I think the sugar was good but I didn't look at the sodium. Thank you!

Ready to drink; pre-made.

I have to agree with Honk, the Premier drinks from Costco are convenient and tasty. I alternate with another shake I mix at home with skim milk.

If not for now,,,, for later. Try Muscle Milk Lite. I buy mine on ebay, and it comes in Jugs of powder, "I LIKE" ready to go cans of shakes, power bars, even oatmeal.

I drank these clean threw the pre op, and post op. That was 5 yrs. ago... I still buy them from dealers, and enjoy them.

The other day when I got filled I had a Cookies N CREAM for lunch, and chocolate PEANUTBUTTER for dinner. They are both very good.

You can look on ebay, and you will find dealers that have a lot of flavors "Check Out The Variety !" Also you will find people who bought the wrong flavor "NOT OPENED" and its up for bid.

Some have expiration dates, So they must be sold ! It's your saving. Also check out the buy it now tab, and see what they have.

A lot of info here to choose from, so good luck in your finds.

Shirley.
