Hello

Hello I was banded in December 2010! My doctor was Dr. Madan and I loved him! He did a great job and I was so frightened that I was ready to bolt the whole time. The first week was really miserable but then one day it wasn't. I've lost 36 lbs and pretty happy about my journey so far. Okay so a little bit more about my journey. I have four kids (one is my step son). The first three were boys and losing most my weight wasn't to bad. After our third son we decided that maybe we were done. Fastforward six years (I'm now in my thrities) and we make the big decision to try for our girl one last time. God blessed us and we have the most beautiful girl in the whole world. Five years later I couldn't budge the weight. After trying repeatedly; I had pretty much given up. Then I saw an advertisement for the lapband. I was a little skeptical but decided to go ahead and go to an appointment. I had one those rare insurance types that don't make you wait six months and so two months later I had the surgey. In the last week I've been sitting between 198lbs and 201lbs; which is the lowest I've weighed since my daughter was born (whoo whoo)! I haven't been a perfect patient but I'm trying. I did have a complete collapse in healthy eating for a week and half trip to Disney Land; was blessed by not gaining any weight but I didn't lose any either. I'm still at the beginning of my journey but I think I'm getting there.

You are doing well keep up the good work.

Congrats on your loss and welcome! Glad to hear Disney went well. Great thing about the band is that it's always there when you're ready to get back on course :)

Hi. I was banded Oct 29, 2010. Dr. George Woodman is my surgeon. He has a remarkable team. I have had no complications from surgery at all. I have had very few side effects. I returned to work when I was 3 days post-op...much to Dr.'s dismay. I am looking forward to a new lifestyle. One that doesn't revolve around food and being what I like to call a foodie. My journey began w/a starting weight of 293.5 lbs. That was June 29, 2010. That day changed my life. I am now at 235 and have hit a plateau. I have had one fill and wanted to do it without a fill. I fell back into old patterns. Started nibbling here and there mindlessly. Going back to dr tomorrow. Will probably fill. Anyhow, I'm way off track. I just wanted to say how happy I am to have found this sight. It is reassuring to see people w/similar issues and be able to talk about them. My family tries to understand, but they don't. Sometimes it takes being there to fully understand. Look forward to seeing what all is on here.

Have a great day!!
