Can't burp?? Ouch!

HI, I was banded 3 days ago, 2/25/11. When I feel like I need to burp, it won't come out. It stays in my stomach area and air moves around and it really hurts. Has anyone experienced this? Does it get better. i can only get a little bit of liquid in at a time, like 1/2 a cup. I've been drinking water, broths, jello, and Muscle Milk protein drinks. I am also starting to get nauseous and dizzy at times, especially when I take the pain medicine. So I stopped taking the medicine after 12:00 noon today and now it is 10:35 p.m. I still salivate and run to the toilet to spit. So far I have not vomited but I feel nauseous. The nausea started to today. Please tell me it is going to get better. Also my shoulder hurts which I knew would happen. Does this get better too...when? I am not at all hungry.

I am 5 years post op RNY and have never been able to burp. I feel bad that my symptoms aren’t as bad as yours but I do have discomfort from time to time. Hang in there

Oh lord 5 years, goodness me!
It's awful I feel for you, I sometimes wish I were able to burp like other people, I get this build up in my throat, my chest and sound like a walking air bubble LOL when I do my livestreams I have to move the mic back as far as possible to avoid picking up on the sounds..or I disguise it with background music.
Even after I do the finger down the throat I still seem to have air trapped are you the same?

Mine seems like it’s faded. I don’t have symptoms any longer but I haven’t burped in forever lol. I’m a guy and guys burp for comic relief right?!? I can’t if I tried

I have never been able to burp, not that it really mattered before, however discreetly I would like to be able to naturally. Im not a fizzy drink lover, nor do I eat fast, never really did. I'm perplexed maybe I should just stop breathing whenever I eat or drink :D

Good call on the guy part lol. I’ve never been frat boy big burp guy but sometimes you just need it. Probably not a good idea on the stop breathing part. That seems pretty important to me. I’m no doctor though
