Challenge: 20 pounds in 26 weeks?

Here's a straight-up challenge that can be an extension of Christina's boot camp. Are you up for losing 20 lbs. by the 4th of July, via food changes, exercise, supernatural intervention, or any combination of the above?

No frills, no nothing -- just commit yourself. If you don't hit the full 20 but are losing weight, you'll still be ahead of the game. Recently banded rabbits may lose 20 by March 1; members of the turtle society may lose 5 by July 4. We're not competing against each other, just against ourselves. So, for us number nerds, let's see how close we can get to 20 in 26. (My dream is to lose 20 by July 4 and be at goal by next Dec. 31.)

Any takers? Please sign in. This isn't an alternative to boot camp (which I joined just today), but an extra motivator.

Oh yes, count me in Zoe (and its great to see you again, how ya doin?).

No Frills !!!! LOVE IT !!! just get down and dirty everyone :)

I'm in. Way in. I've got to jump start this weight loss train and I think a good challenge is just the thing I need.

So- are we going to do a weekly check in, weigh in, food journal...???

My first goal is to eat Protein for Breakfast every morning. So far this week, so good.

My nextweek goal is going to be drinking my Water and NOT drinking with meals.

Megan

I am in. I have been banded for 2+ years and have only lost 6 lbs the past 6 monts. It really sucks. I am at 190 now. I am going to be 175 by july 4!! I know I can do it easily if I stop drinking with meals. That is my goal and I am sticking to it!

I'll get in on this one too. I would like to AT LEAST lose another 20 lbs, but if I could get my head on straight, I might even pass that and do better. Don't feel too bad, Kyleigh, at least you're going in the right direction. Without the band, we'd have gained it all back and then some!

PLease count me in too!!! I need all the motivation I can get!!

OK, ladies (and any guys who want to join). I suggest we check in on the first Monday of each month, more often if you want. But if we commit to at least once a month, we can see if we're all going in a general downward pattern, without getting too bummed out about short-term gains and plateaus. Now that I can walk almost like a normal person again, I'm back on the long walks that helped me lose pounds last winter.

Anyone can join this challenge at any time. Let's kick ass! See you here on February 6!

This morning's weight. 176.8. AND GUESS WHAT!! After my EGD yesterday and subsequent fill, I now have restriction! Woohoo.. I might actually lose some afterall..

K, the heat is ON! I went and joined LA Fitness this evening. I have NO excuse not to work my BUTT OFF!! I have absolutely nothing to do with my evenings, so I am about to become a gym rat!

I weighed yesterday. I am STILL 352.

Booo

Maybe I will need 26 weeks to lose 20 pounds...:)

  • 2 weeks later...

I want to ba loserrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Good luck everyone

174 this morning. HOWEVER, I'm working out doing Aqua aerobics, I'm hoping that's muscle and I'll soon see some weight loss. I know I'm seeing inch loss already!
