intro

Hello,

I have been lurking for about a month. I live in Raleigh, NC and I am praying to be banded soon. Tuesday I have an appointment with a nutritionist which will be my last appointment until approval. A bit nervous because at all my appointments everyone was shocked I am trying to get lapband. I am 5'6' 255 lbs with sleep apena/high blood pressure, cholesterol/diabetes. I think I am a walking billboard for lapband, just pray my insurance sees it that way. Anyone ever use Verizon BCBS...uggh

Welcome!

I think you are perfect for the lapband! :) You will feel so much better once you get the weight off. I too had high BP and high cholesterol and that is down to normal. I've heard of folks who don't need their diabetes meds anymore as well. I don't think your insurance should give you any grief given your comorbidities.

Best of luck on your journey!

Well I made it through all the pre-op appointments and test. Dr submitted to insurance company yesterday, And today I get a call for approval!!! Process went way better than I was thinking, pretty much 1 month between first visit and approval. I meet with the Dr on the 31st for to follow up on test and to set up surgery date!
