Around the third week post-op I had intence pains in my lowwer left abdominal region. I almost went to the ER for it. The last stabbing pain I had I said to myself it must be a kidney stone and that if I had one more pain like that I would call 911 and go to the ER. Well I drank several glasses of water and urinated several times but that last stabbing pain was the last stabbing pain! I still do not know what was causing it, but I am very glad it has not come back again.

Kidney stone pain is generally in your back. Have you had kidney stones before or have a family history of then? Maybe you are thinking of gall stones. I don't think it would just go away if it were either of those.

If you are concerned about it maybe call your surgeon at ask?

I had kidney stones after doing Atkins induction diet for way too long. Who knew a drastic change in diet could do that to you?! The pain was sharp and constant, not stabbing.

I see my surgeon tomorrow. I plan to ask what that whole episode was about. Thanx for the feed back.
