Hello

Hello everyone.......I have been reading this forum for about two months now and everyone's comments have been so helpful. I was banded on Dec.6th in NJ. I have lost 12 lbs so far although this holiday has been difficult for me. I do not have any restriction and look forward to my first fill on Jan. 11th.

Hi there,

You are the first person I am communicating with here! I am waiting for banding, Jan 18th to be exact.

First of all, well done for the 12 pds! And over the holidays too! Wow!

I have no input for you, I have not been banded yet but I have to say, this forum seems to be a good one. I have tried to talk to a few people about my banding but seem to get no support, just comments about lack of willpower. I wonder if you have told anyone?

Take care, Sooze.

Congrats to the both of you! Finding support can be tough, but know that people who are not walking in our shoes do not always understand the difficulties of our food addiction and how it is not will power that is needed but rather some tools and in our cases a tool placed by surgery to assist us to go where we need/want to go. I have been heavy all of my life, been up and down the scale so many times I'd be rich if I had a penny for each of those times. Tried all sorts of diets some with results and some with just relief when it was over and in the end I failed to keep the weight off.

I have come to a place in my life where I really could care less if people understand me or not. I tell those that I choose to tell about my surgery and talk openly about it when people ask. If they think i am weak...OK...can't help them there. I have been very blessed in the fact that when I told my hubby he got behind me and is supporting me everyday in every way that he can, my co-workers are good too!

I wish you both well on this process known as the band!
