Did you watch the external view of the surgery or the internal? I was actually more freaked out by the external view because it looked like they were beating up the stomach. The internal view was fascinating. However, it's a lot less invasive and painful than having your innards rewired or part of your stomach taken out.

I'm glad I never watched a surgery online before my surgery. That freaks me right out even watching them now. I have seen some of my docs videos and I really can't stand to watch it. Don't worry though the surgery is really worth it. Just try not to watch anymore videos.

Also it is not as painful as it looks.

I agree with Laura completely. I've watched a few different lap band surgeries on youtube. I was completely freaked out by one because it really focused on the outside view. However I watched one today that was a 5 part one that was mostly internal view and it was facinating. I wasn't nearly as freaked out. I am having my surgery on the 21st and I'm feeling ok about it right now (that may change at I get closer!) Dont let the surgery itself stop you from the whole lapband journey.
