Newbee from Illinois

Hello, I am very happy that I found this site. It has made my decision to get LAP-BAND® much easier. I am still in the pre-op process. I went for my psych eval last week. I am waiting for insurance approval. I hope it doesn't take long. I go back to the Dr. on Nov. 17th. My Dr. requires a 3 mo. weight loss attempt before surgery. My journey started Sept. 5 so it will be a little while before my surgery but I am very excited and a little nervous.

Hi Stephens, and welcome! :smile2:

You will find a lot of great information and support here! I too am from Illinois and finally coming up to the "big day" (November 8th)... my insurance required a 6 mo medically supervised diet, and since it was HMO had to go thru the hoops and red tape with the PCP as well. I've learned so much tho and feel much more prepared! There are other Illinoisans on here whom I'm sure will pop up! May I ask whereabouts are you in Illinois? I'm in the Chicago burbs and will be banded at Rush University Medical Center.

Best of luck to you and please holler on the boards or in pm if you need anything! :blushing:

God bless,

Susan

Just stick with it. Some insurance companies make you jump through hoops. Then some are easy. I was expecting worse case sceniero and was approved in 2 days. I too am from Illinois, Joliet area. I have been happy with my decision of getting help in a healthier me. I do have times of trying to accept the skinner me but that will take time.

Welcome.:sneaky:
