2 days post op. not eating enough

I had lapban on 21. Everything went great. Today I was supposed to start full liquid diet. I still have quite a bit of gas and feel like I need to burp. As a result I can barely drink my protein shake or have more than 2 spoons of apple sauce or cream of chicken soup. Is this normal? I am afraid of overeating so I stop as soon as I feel something. I am not hungry but I worry about not getting enough protein. Please help. What should I be eating and drinking and how much...And how do I get it down.

Protein is important, however until your stomach calms down, you may have water and broth if you cannot tolerate the shakes 24 hours or so will not hurt you and will allow the swelling to go down. Try to keep your liquids room temperture or warm. Try your protein shakes the next day and see how you tolerate them. Good luck!:blushing:
