Newbie Here!

Hello everyone. I have made the decision to begin the Lap Band journey....seminar, consultation down. Pre-op testing to begin next week, individual and group diet consultation the week after. I am very, very new to the process. I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me. I am thankful that I found this group to help me get through it.:)

Best of luck....the hardest decision has been made....that is to get the operation done....best decision of my life.....hope all goes well for you....and the people on the site are excellent....they have really helped me at times :)

Hello,

I am new here, too. I am still trying to figure things out. I, too, recently decided to get banded after years of putting it off. I just keep getting bigger and bigger. After yet the 100th try at Weight Watchers, I said that is it. I must do something. I am a pro at losing weight, I just can't keep it off.

This seems like a great place for support. I hope that we can stay in touch and travel this journey.

Welcome and congrats on the decision to add an exciting, new chapter to your life! Please keep us updated how you're doing in your journey. :] This is truly the best support group out there.

Hi Everyone, I am new here as well. I have been thinking about lapband surgery for the past two years. I started the process about 1 1/2 years ago and I now know I am ready. I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 27th of October. I hope my surgery will be scheduled for some time in November. I am glad I found this support system.

Best wishes to you all!

hi newbie, welcome to the forum....congrats on your decision....if you are still looking for a doctor, i highly recommend Dr. Aceves....he is your best choice....goodluck and feel free to ask any question. :)

Hello,

Thanks so much for responding. I have just started and I know that I have a long way to go..

TraceyR,

Are you required to do a diet and weight loss process before surgery?

I found out that I need to. I've lost 6 pds so far. That's the funny thing, I'm a pro at losing.. Keeping it off, not so much..

Mindy
