How long till you got good restriction??

How long after surgery did it take you to get to good restriction and start really losing weight?? how many fills to get to that point? I am in bandster hell and can only get fills every 6 weeks and have had one fill and no restriction...I am scheduled for my 2nd fill Oct. 19th and havnt lost any weight in a month...want to know how it worked for others so I can calm my nerves about it:cursing:

Hang in there- it will get better. It took me 3 fills to have any kind of restriction. Just know it will happen, keep getting your fills and try to be patient. As far as surviving "bandster hell" I would focus on eating the right foods. The portions may be larger than when you have restriction. Also, if you haven't already, start excersising. It has been the key to success for me. Start out slow and gradually increase the intensity/duration. Good luck!

I was just talking about this with my new (YEAH) nutritionist- I got restriction after my third fill - but it has gone away significantly- she says its because of losing abdominal fat. So now I am scheduled for a fill with my new (YEAH) doc next week.. I always thought once you had restriction you had it but apparently not!

I've steadily lost weight at the same rate since banding--but I still am fine-tuning adjustment at 8 months.

I felt some restriction with my 3rd or 4th fill--and have been tweaking it since. (I think I'm there--but the beauty of it is that it can always be adjusted, forever.)

My doctor's eating regimen is stringent, but was really great for promoting loss even without good restriction. Yes, I was hungry---but that was time-limited

It took me about five months and I think about five fills until I had good restriction. I didn't lose that much during that time, but once I was around my sweet spot, the weight started falling off. I had mentally prepared myself for the wait for restriction, so I wasn't really too worried. Give it time, it WILL happen eventually!

I was wondering the same thing. I just had my third fill and still do not have the restriction I was hoping for. I was really hoping to have lost more weight than this by now. I've learned that each person is different. Some people don't even need fills...they get enough restriction from just having the band placed. I unfortunately am not one of those people. You and I will both have to learn to be patient I guess.

Good luck.

Thanks all...I really am hoping I get restriction with my 2nd fill in 2 weeks! my doctor wont fill but every six weeks and not before so that bummed me out. after the initial weight loss did those of you that experienced bandster hell not lose much weight for a few months before you finally had restriction?? than the weight starting coming off?

I am a year out and still don't have good restriction. Well when I get a fill I usually have good restriction for about a week and a half.

I still have been losing weight, but it's because I am eating right and exercising. Don't wait on a good restriction like I did. Even with the band you still have to do the work.
