Is It Possible To Start Over?

Hello All In Band-Land,

I haven't been on here in awhile because I thought I could get away with food-murder and I did! I should be hitting myself in the face right now. I was banded in late September and was suppose to have a fill in early November to find out that my port has slipped and now I cannot have a fill until Jan19th. Its like the band doesn't even exist in my body anymore. I was great after surgery and now all I want to do is eat and eat and sometimes I in fact do just that. I am feeling like a failure here. Anyone else on here need to be in the 'Do Over" mode? I wish I could stop my mind from thinking about food.

Of course you can always start over. That is one of the beauties of the band. If you need to take a break for whatever reason, the band will still be there, waiting patiently.

I'm gonna "do over" with you, k?

I haven't lost anything since June. I go through periods where I try really really hard, and then I don't see results, so I just don't try at all. I've had so much crap to eat lately.

I just bought some containers to eat my meals out of. The entire meal has to fit into the container. It's still probably too big (maybe 2 cups if it was all the way full to the brim), but if I can set some guidelines, I can tweak them later. Of course, my problem isn't what I eat at once. It's what I eat before/after my meals, but if I have structure; meal times, etc, I think that will help.

Do over!

Jen, I could use you right now. And YOU can use me. I need to start all over again from square one. I pick horrible food choices, terrible habits, bad, bad, bad. Right now I'm looking for someone dead serious to diet with. Phone calls, support, friggen weekend visits, whatever it takes.

I am starting over again as well. I had a good day today. We will see how it goes. The hardest time for me is after 7p when the sweets starting calling me. But I am determined to get back on my wagon.

I've just finished 4 pieces of bacon and a danish. Can I start over too? I really, really want to be thin, but I'm afraid as long as I have a mental image of myself as fat I will never reach my goal. I was recently told that our goal should be not a number but a mental image of ourselves at our goal. It's really hard to do. Supposedly if you can't picture yourself thin, your subconscious will sabotage you and that is why you are constantly reverting to fat foods.

We should start a "Do-Over" club. No shame to be in it, but we need to be held accountable for our actions. NO SWEET TALK, just motivation! Whos in with me?

This is just what I need... I am in. I have not lost any since early October and I am having a hard time admitting that I am the one making poor choices. I am the only one that is saboutaging my own efforts. Now I am blaming it on the holidays and my body just catching up with the weight that I have already lost. I have signed up for a new fitness club that is suppose to open the end of the week. When I signed up (2 weeks ago) I quit getting on the tread mill at home. It is like I have given myself the past few months off....WHY? I am not near the personal goal that I set for myself and I started out so well.

How do we start over?

Please help!

-Carol

It is so good to read what everyone writes on here and know that I am not alone. I had my surgery 10/20 , had my first fill the day before Thanksgiving and have lost only 5#! I am going in for another fill tomorrow as I feel very little restriction. I guess I thought this surgery would be a magic pill, or something but have found out that you certainly still have to be very regimented with your way of eating! It is hard if you are a "snacker" and not one to eat 3 regular meals a day. That is the biggest thing I need to work on as well as not drinking with my meals. So I am needing to start over and try to do this the right way.

Thank you to everyone for all that you write and all the information I gain here!

I agree with the "Do-Over Club" thing. I think Shell was right in one of her posts when she found out her band awas eroded "We need to get our heads out of our butt and start losing." I swear, I keep playing that comment in my head over and over.
