October 2010 Bandsters!!

I finally got my date today!! Woohoo! Feel like I have been waiting forever. October 18th they offered me the 5th but b/c of my work schedule I could not do it :) I feel so much better though that I have a date and can now make plans, with time off work etc...

Who else is getting banded in October? I think it will be nice to have others to compare feelings and stories with, as we are going through this.

Good Luck to everyone! New Chapter here I come

Thanks so much, everyone, for the words of wisdom...and for not telling me I'm a freak!!!

I will update as soon as I'm coherent, just to let y'all know I survived. :)

I'll be thinking of you all as your dates fast approach. And Bill, GOOD LUCK tomorrow! We will do great, and set a good example to our patients!

I get banded on thursday!!!! i'm really excited.... it's almost surreal!!

I am getting banded wednesday and yes, 1 ounce of water, crystal light or diet snapple every hour...nothing else until clearance from the doctor next week. Most the people that I have talked to say that it is a breeze because the band is in place and there is swelling. Good Luck!

Good Luck Wednesday. I get banded on Wed the 27. Let us know how it goes.

Okay, I'm off to the hospital! Eek!!!! Will update later.

Tomorrow is the day. I'm slightly freaking out now. I'm SUPER nervous. I've had 2 previous surgeries and I don't think I was as nervous as I am for this one...or maybe I don't remember being this nervous. But..I'm trying to control myself and have happy thoughts!

To make things worse I broke my cpap machine's hose last night. LOL I must of had a fight. I really hate that thing and I haven't used it much. The dr said my sleep apnea is so mild that I shouldn't have gotten one...but nonetheless, the hospital requires you to bring it for surgery (I guess for when you're asleep in recovery). I don't know who to call to get a replacement hose. What to do what to do. I'm sure it's to late to get a replacement, I'll just have to take it and show them that it's broken. Oh wells!

Good luck BostonPA and everyone else getting banded today and tomorrow.

Eekkkk! We're almost there!

Hi all! I am getting my band Oct 12th. Started this journey in June. I had to loose 20 pounds first. It was hard and I didn't make it, but my doctor loked back in my records and saw that I lost 10 pounds before coming to him and used that. So all together I have lost 25. I am excited. I started the liquid diet today,,,just one week before. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for answering Tory  I thought 10 months was a long wait lol. Congrats on your surgery and you must be very patient hehe. It's about to pay off huh?

Well tomorrow is my date for banding. My feet and hands are cold, I guess from anxiety! So nervous. Mostly nervous about the anesthesia and failing also afterwards.

I am on all clear liquids all day, bummer, but I can do it. Drank warm broth for bkfst, and drinking Crystal Light right now, even tho It's freezing weather.
