Carnation Instant Breakfast?

I received 3 different post op diets, very, very similiar from my 1st appointment, then when I saw my nutritionist and then again right before surgery. One of them lists Carnation Instant breakfast no sugar added as an option for Stage 2 (Full-Liquids) which I'm on. Did anyone else have this during this stage? I would love to be able to branch out a little bit and would be interested in having this if it's OK.

i was giving a recipie for a protien shake by my dr and it has CIB in it. the shake is 28 grams of protien and I LOVE it !!

1 cup skim milk

4 tablespoons not fat dry milk

one pkg of CIB sf

1 tablespoon of creamy peanutbutter

if u want to add 1/2 banana

he gave me a book with over 30 diffrent high protien shakes to make... this is my Fav... i drink it everyday for breakfast. I know they dont like you to drink your food but I had one fill and meat dosnt go down. so i do this so my hair dosnt fall out :)

if you need anymore let me know

Amy

I used CIB (sugar free) with skim milk. I am real finicky when it comes to drinks like that and I just can't gag down the pre-mixed Protein drinks.

I now only use CIB on those days when I can't get breakfast in before work.

My nutrionalist said this is perfectly fine for us. He also suggested adding some non-fat dry milk to it, for a little extra protein.

This was part of my pre-op diet. Afterwards, I tried to mostly use the Protein shakes, but I still use it from time to time. I like the taste of it. Sometimes I add a scoop of nutella and a banana to make it more filling.
