24 hours postop

I am 24 hours post op, i have alot of gas pain, and my stomach is bloated. How long does the gas last. I have been walking alot. Also is it normal to feel more pain after drinking clear liquids. The pain is tolerable after i drink. I would like to get some feedback

Im 6 days post op and still have the bloating and swelling and gas. Im not sure how long it lasts but I just make sure and keep gas-x around.

I think it's different for everyone, but it took 9 days for me. Yesterday was the first day I wasn't miserable from the gas pain. Of course, my port incision has really started hurting and burning just as the gas pain went away. Grrrrrrr.

Great question, I was just going to ask this myself. I just surgery yesterday. The bloatedness is a little annoying. I don't think I have any gas come out anywhere. I've been taking my Gas-X as well. I hope the bloated stomach goes away after this week.

Also, I noticed that I can't breath in as deeply as I could before. Does anybody else have that problem? How about sleeping. It's hard to get in a comfortable position and then worse to try to get up.

I have A LOT of gas pain in my arm! Its sooo uncomfortable! And it hurts when i get up! But while i'm laying down or sittin up i'm fine. Its my belly button that is soo sore! I was given a local anesthic cream but do scared 2 use it on my sores.

I know that I had a hard time getting a good deep breath until about day 5 post op. As far as sleeping, I slept better on my right side on the couch. My port is on my left side.
