My post-op restrictions say no driving for 24 hours after surgery. Did your doctor give longer restrictions for driving post surgery?

My instructions said not to drive for a week, longer if on pain medications. I think the environments you are driving in should be considered. My hospital is in a urban area. If you have to do a lot of twisting in your seat to merge into traffic that could be a problem.

I can drive 24 hours after being off all pain meds.

I was banded on 7/29 and discharged from the hospital on 8/2 and was told not to drive until I had my follow-up appointment on 8/11!

I am about to go stir-crazy!!

That driving restriction has to do with pain meds and anesthesia usually. That's all.
