Holy cow that was a cinch!!

Got banded yesterday!:scared2:

No gas pain, no swelling, no bloating!

Only five small bandages. My stomach looks like it did before but with those five tiny Patches. No seepage, no bleeding! Up and rolling within hours. I can't feel a thing. Is it really in there?!?!?

Hope everyone has as wonderful an experience as mine!!!

Thanks everyone! It really has been such a great experience! Today, 2 days post-op, I have not taken any pain meds. It just feels like I pulled a muscle in my left side and that is totally manageable. And I have already lost the surgery weight gain plus 1 pound! And I got a shower!!!!

Today I started full liquids and felt the restriction for the first time. It is heavenly to sit down to 1/2 cup of blended cream of chicken Soup and be so full afterwards.

I can sleep on my side easily, have done from the first day home and was able to give my babies, 3 and 5 year olds, baths tonight.

No doubt I had a superb surgeon but I think one's attitude is the real key. This is my choice and I welcomed the band into my body like a little, very expensive:laugh:internal personal trainer.

Great luck to us all!!!:cursing:

Great to hear because my hubby will only have 2 1/2 days off from work to be home with me and I was worried I wouldn't be ready!

Good job.

Merrywait--I love the way you think! I agree about being positive. It helps others around you as well as yourself.

YAY!

Your post is inspirational and eases my mind about the big day for myself! Thanks for the input!

Your positive attitude and outlook are refreshing! Thanks for sharing, and I hope that I can convey that same attitude after my big day- TOMORROW, AUGUST 13TH . Keep posting!

I so Feel the Same Way...I have tired to stop reading the posts but am so addicted that i am actually scaring myself.. what made it even worse is i went to another website and that one scared me even worse so i think i'm just gonna stop reading for a while...

thanks so much for your positive post!! All the negative one's scare the $@ outta me!! My surgery date is August 26th and I am so ready!!

I too was overwhelmed reading so many posts here but I stopped reading a few days before my surgery and just recently came back on. I was banded on 7/14/10 and was out of it for the first two or three days. And then about day five I was like okay, did I really have this surgery? I had a single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS for short) through my belly button and it was wonderful. Only during a cat scan (for unrelated reasons) that I had recently did I actually believe I had a lap band in place. I was also one of the very fortunate people that did not get any gas pains and I was able to tolerate every food stage without no complications. Good luck to all who are reading this have not yet been banded. You can do this!!

WOW merrywait, that sounds like the ideal banding! you sound sooo happy hopefully this goes the same for me and everyone eles waitng for the banding!
