ok so i went to a pre-op appt with a cardiologist. ( Just a background...my heart is super healthy and so is my Ekg). He said i looked really healthy then said ok stress test for you.

My surgeon does not require a stress test, im a little annoyed i need to do one . Has anyone done one and can you elaborate?

Hmmm normally a stress test is done after an abnormal EKG or an abnormal 24 hour holter monitor.

I wonder why your having to do one?

I had one in March and it was easy peasy. They had me do it even tho my tests were fine too, so maybe just an extra precaution? Don't spend any time worrying about it, it's just some monitors checking out your heart and a few minutes on a treadmill. Being overweight helps with that, the heartrate (at least mine!) goes up quickly so the test is over fast.

The cardiologist I went to also is making me do a stress EKG and get an echocardiogram. He said my EKG was normal. I am only 27, I really am unsure why I need to have them done. My surgeon doesn't require them either. Anyways I have my stress EKG on Wednesday and the echo on the 6th.
