I know my post op instructions say not to be concerned over a fever unless its over 101. But, I have been running a low grade fever every evening for the last couple days...is this normal?:devil_smile: Surgery date was 6-10.

It would be worth calling the surgeon's office about.

I'm a Same Day Surgery/Recovery room nurse...a lot of times people start developing low grade temps and just need to walk and deep breathe and cough. Normally it has to do with respiratory issues. An infection at the surgical site would give you a much higher temp plus terrible pain. Soooo, try walking and deep breathing and coughing to get those lungs ventilating!

I would throw away the thermometer and just walk and drink water. If you have pain or are very miserable for some other reason, call the doc... Hugs!!
