Newly Banded --- 6/4/2010

Hello everyone! I was banded yesterday, June 4, 2010 and so far, so good! My shoulder hurts quite a bit but I am following the post surgery instructions and am actually feeling pretty good! I currently have diabetes, high BP and 70 lbs to lose but for the first time, I feel that can actually succeed at losing the weight and living a longer, healthier life.

I have been reading lots of the posts on here and am so relieved to see I am not alone. There are so many people that share the same feelings I do and the same struggles. I look forward to getting to know some of you better!

CONGRATULATIONS on your surgery. I wish you much success. Please keep us posted on your progress. Make sure that you walk as much as possible. Use Gas-X strips and a heating pad for your pain. And remember take it one day at a time. Don't push yourself.

Thanks so much! I didn't know about the Gas-X strips. I will definitely add those to the list of things to pick up.

I walked last night around our block. My b/f walked with me and we took it slow and easy. I am actually pretty amazed at how good I feel after reading some other people's blogs. I know I can't push myself too hard but I really had expected to be in a lot more pain than this so woohoo! lol

I see that you have lost 94 lbs in just a little over 7 months. That is awesome!!! Congratulations! I can't wait to see that number drop for me but I also know I didn't get this size overnight and that the LapBand is not a miracle cure. I will definitely post my progress if for no other reason than to remind myself of where I have been.

Thanks again for the kind words! Good luck to you too!!!

Congratulations!! I will be joining you on Monday June 7th. I am not one bit scared, I am too excited. I will take this weekend to finish up my shopping. Good luck to you!
