Mexico lapband

I am going to Tijuana, Mexico on June 8th for lapband surgery with Dr. Mario Almanza. Has anyone from the states had lapband and what kind of results have you had? Was it as scary as people make it out to be having it done there?

Thanks for any info....

 Hello there,

I am going to exico as well, however I am having my surgery done at Bajanor Hospital and I have had two friends about a year ago have there surgery there as well. My doctor is Oscar Lumbar and I have heard nothing but good things from there.

I hope you surgery goes well, however the real work will come after wards with your eating and weight lose plan.

Congrads on your surgery

I live in Alberta, Canada and I went to Tijuana for my surgery (May 24, 2010) with Dr. Ortiz and I had an amazing experience! Beautiful clinic and very professional staff-I almost felt like I was on a spa retreat with how well I was treated before, during and after surgery :(

I too was a bit nervous about going down there, but hardly had a choice with the $10,000 price difference if I got it done here, but Tijuana itself is quite a nice, clean, and friendly city! Absolutely NOT how I thought it was going to be!

I'm not familiar with the doctor you are using, but I would definetly recommend Dr Ortiz and Tijuana with VERY high regards!!

I went to Mexico and saw Dr. Ortiz and had a great experience. I would just say to stay in your hotel and you will be fine. No walking around, I hear alot of stuff so I avoid any thing that would put me in a position to be in stuff. The clinic was fabulous and the staff was great. I just went down this week for my 1st fill and that is the only place I will ever go for fills. You will do just fine.

Hi Cindy,

How did your surgery go. I see you're from Calgary. Me too. Banded May 5. Welcome!!
