May 19 Bandsters

I know there are quite a few out there. I was banded yesterday morning and was in and out without much of a problem. Recovery is going well but I am a stomach sleeper so having to sleep on my back has been a learning experience.

I am obviously on a liquid diet but I can't drink very much at all. No regurgitation but I get a full feeling that is uncomfortable after about three or four sips. Hopefully that is just swelling and inflammation from the band install.

What is your experiences so far?

Congrats Sotex! I was also banded yesterday. I had my operation in the late afternoon and stayed overnight per hospital guidelines. I had a bit of a reaction to the anesthesia - when I got up for the first time last night to go to the bathroom, I got dizzy, nauseous, and started sweating. Eventually that went away, but I think that stuff took a while to leave my body.

Today I'm just sore like I did way too many crunches (getting up and laying down are painful), and I have that phantom left shoulder pain that I've read is caused by internal gas pressure. That pain has nearly gone away, but the strange thing is I haven't passed any gas at all. Nothing. At least not yet....

Finding it hard to drink much as well. I haven't felt too full yet but I just find that I'm taking small sips and not wanting to test the limits. Will be interesting to see how the next few days go - I'll keep checking in.

In the meantime, hope everyone else from the May 19th group is resting, relaxing, and recovering. Let us know how you're doing!

I was also banded 5/19 and here we are, made it through 3 months. I am down 39 lbs and probably in better shape than ever. How are you guys doing?

Banded May 5th. I am down 54lbs.:) Started at 212, down to 158. Only 28lbs away from my goal. From a size 18 to now a size 8/10. Best thing I have EVER done for myself! Just had another fill on Sept. 3rd. I losing count how many fills i have had now, but I am up to 7.9cc's in a 10cc band. Dr. Kirshenbaum is very pleased with my progress. Said i am a poster child for lapband, lol. I can eat anything and have never had any problems what-so-ever. I guess I am one of the lucky few. Best money I have ever spent. SOooooooo HAPPY!!
