My New Journey

Hello~

I am in the process of getting banded, I still don't have a surgery date set yet. I have already done the blood work, Upper GI scan, abdomen ultrasound & the stress echo test. On the 12 I have my psycologist counsulation & sleep consultation, then on June 8 I have a meeting with the dietitian, hopefully the give me a surgery date after that. As much as I am excited about the process and the new healthy me that will be emerging, I can not help but be very scared. Scared that I will not suceed on this, or that I will be in so much pain, ugh so many emotions!!!

Any feedback would be really appreciated!

Thank you!

I'm still a few days away from surgery, but at the very least I can say what you're feeling right now sounds pretty normal to me. I know I went through it! I've been mostly excited but of course there's the nagging voice in my head that says, "What if you're the one person that can't make this work?" I honestly think this mental waiting game is going to be the hardest part for me.

I think reading these boards and following some of the superstar blogs will definitely help calm you down. I see so much success everywhere I look, it's amazing and totally inspiring!! You can't help but feel you've got some wind in your sails!

So good luck to you and congratulations on your progress so far!
