I am 11 months in and have only lost 56 pounds. I feel like I should have lost so much more. I started out at 320 and am now down to 264. I feel like I eat too much for someone with a band, but everytime I go in for a fill I end up choking on every little thing. Not sure what to do? What does everyones diet consist of and how much?

High Protein, low carb, low fat. Keep porportions down 2-4oz. I do "MY Fit Foods" during the week. I buy the smalls that is 2 meals. I am 2 months out and have lost 33lbs.

I wouldn't be too disappointed as you're ahead of the one pound per week estimate that my surgeon suggests is typical. Congrats on the weight loss.

We are all different and are going to lose at different rates.

Protein is key-- I buy EAS Protein Bars to snack on during the day. Cut them up put them in a baggis and when that sneakly little hunger gremlin appears I have one piece of the Protein Bar.

Exercise-- And no it is no easy for me to say , since I have arthritis in both knees and both wrists .. I do manage to go Water walking at least 2x a week.

Writeonamber you have lost nearly 120 pounds in less then a year that is amazing. How can I not be disappointed in myself in losing only 56 pounds in 11 months. I didn't know that you lose some fill after air travel. Is that true?

What are you eating? In what amounts? What kinds of exercise are you doing?

Can you up your exercise? I am a bit overkill on the exercise BUT I do notice a HUGE difference now that I work out more.

I don't count calories and I don't count fat. I count Protein. As long as I get 65 grams I am doing well.

You are doing great! How much would you have gained in that year?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
