Weight Gain immediately after surgery?

I was banded on Thursday, April 22 and have followed the post-op diet very strictly, but I have gained about 2 1/2 lbs.

I know that this is a time for "healing" not weight loss, but I'm just surprised that I went up a little, rather than down a little.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks!

Yes, I gained about 4 pounds. It's the IV fluids and the swelling. The weight will come off in a couple of days.

Yes, I also believe it's the IV. I think they put saline in it. The weight is probably just water.

ITA. It is definitely from the IV fluids they were giving you in the hospital. It will go away very soon.
