Help! Having MAJOR second thoughts....

Hi everyone... I've asked this in the "pre op" section... and now I'm asking this of you.. the post ops...

I am nearly at the point of getting my surgery date. have jumped through all the hoops.... and NOW... after 6 months of talking, going to meetings.... researching.... I am having major second thoughts about having a silicon band permanently inside me.... forever. And my second fear.... is what if I fail at THIS? I've been reading posts about people having stalled weight loss etc... and I guess I'm just afraid of yet another weight loss failure.

Any one else have these thoughts or feelings before your surgery????

Hope I'm not putting anyone off with being this honest..... just need some support.

Thanks

Tracy

Hey everyone, Just want to thank everyone for their heartfelt responses... just what I needed a little kick in my big (soon to be small) butt! I need to keep the prize in front of me... I wish i could comment of each one that took the time to leave me a comment, (shhhh but I'm at work!). but you really helped me. Thanks! I will let you all know when I have "the date." lol It feels as important as a wedding date... but at least I know the band is forever! LOL.. now THAT's funny!!!!! :(

Keep smiling! Tracy

I also had to do many things before I had my surgery. Go to 6 months of classes, group meetings & ect. I think the whole time I was doing that I never really thought it would happen, because I was turned down a few years before. I remember when they told me my surgery would be 3/4/09 and I was scared and unsure if I really wanted to do this. The night before my surgery I cried all night thinking maybe I should change my mind. I will tell you this is one of the best things I ever did for myself. It is not easy and takes lots of work, but I feel great. Everyone has second thoughts and no one knows what will happen in the future but you will succeed if you work hard and follow the rules I wish you the best of luck and hope you decide to get a band, I don't think you will be sorry.
