March 16, 201016 yr I don't know, but according to my packet, the symptoms are: * acid reflux * nausea * vomiting (inability to keep much of anything, even Water, down) If you suspect your band slipped, you should contact your doctor and get an ensophagram, which is a special type of x-ray that shows the position of the band around the stomach. Here are some pictures and more info: http://www.thinnertimes.com/weight-loss-surgery/lap-band/lap-band-complications/slippage.html Edited March 16, 201016 yr by caffeine
March 17, 201016 yr Having gone through this, I can tell you my symptoms: I had pain in the abdomen area, the port area was very tender as was my stomach. I found I was not feeling any restriction any longer. Also, and it took me a while to figure this one out; weight gain. I gained almost 30 pounds and was in denial the whole time. If you feel you have slipped, do not hesitate, check it out right away.
March 17, 201016 yr Author thank you so much.. I have been looseing so fast in the last few weeks I was a little worried but none of the things you discribe are happening. I guess I am just so tight and need to get an unfill in the near future.( another 15 Lbs or so ) I didn't know that the band could get tighter with time.:scared2:
March 17, 201016 yr Knowing from experience I lost my band in May of 2008. I did not have any pain but was unable to keep anything down. I would have acid reflux at night while sleeping and would PB all day. I lost weight very fast. I went from 180 - 145 in 4 weeks. I was very dehydrated and sometimes weak. I went back and forth to the doctor and was told that I was eating too fast. It was not until the rapid weightloss that my doctors begin to get concerned. With all of that said, I am now doing fine and have a New Band and a New Doctor. If you are having issues go the the doctor. If it is a partial slippage it can be repaired. EJ
can anyone tell me what a slipped band feels like?
Thanks:blush:
