Has anyone had to have their band replace? Mine needs replacing and im very nervous, can anyone give me any advice please? Or has anyone had this operation? My band was put in 4 years ago too high.

I can't give you advice, but I am really sorry this has happened. I think that's everyone's worst fear regarding the band.

Hopefully it won't be as difficult this time, and you will heal fast.

May I ask why you have to have it replaced? Did it slip?

I had my band removed and in a few months I will get a new one. I had band erosion. The removal surgery is not painful at all.I am assuming that replacing the band is almost the same as getting a new one. I met someone while I was recovering from my surgery and his band was replaced and the surgery went well. He said it just felt like having the lapband surgery again but not as bad because he knew what to expect.

how did you find out there is a problem?

My SIL's band slipped and she had it replaced with no problems. Went in and had everything removed and replaced the same day. Now she is getting back to restriction and doing great! Good luck :wub:
