Work in progress

Hi, my name is Kim Vance. I was banded on December 1st, 2009. Dr. Holloway did my surgery and I would recomended him to anyone. So far I have lost 30lbs and counting. I see Dr. Holloway or Dot every 2 weeks, just to chart my progress.

Hi Kim! Welcome to the site and congratulations! Wow... 30 pounds already, that is fantastic! You should be very proud of your progress. I am in the beginning stages. Have gone for my pre op meetings. The program I am in has a lot of hoops to jump through..but I am glad of the mental preparation time! I meet with a nurse practitioner to get my orders on 4/22, then the dietitian.I do not have a banding date yet, but that is ok. Slow and steady.

Keep in touch on here, and let us know how you are doing and what you are eating etc. We can all use suggestions and knowledge. Best of luck and keep up the GREAT work!

Thanks. How exciting for you. I know it seems like it takes forever to satisfy insurance companies. It took me a year to get approved. I had 6 months of seeing a dietician, 6 months of seeing my primary care provider, and a psych eval. But you know it was worth it. I knew everything I needed to know before surgery, there were no surprises. It's a long process, but it is worth it.
