Am I hungery?

Hi,

I was banded on Monday and feel ok other than a lot of bloating. I've been put on a stage 2 diet and told to eat until I am full. Problem is I'm not sure when I'm actually hungery. My stomach makes noises (growls) is this hunger or a recovering stomach? I know this sounds crazy.

Also, any ideas on when the bloating will go away?

Thanks,

I think it’s the band because my stomach growls all the time even when I know I’m not hungry at all. I have heard other people talk about the growling and just say it’s a side effect of the band you have to live with and is well worth it. Not sure about the bloating thou never had any.

I have some growling too, but not loud enough for anyone to notice but me, so I ignore it...some of it is gas/air moving around.

RE: the bloating...it takes a bit for this to subside...I'm still a little bloated at almost 2 weeks postop, but much, much less than I had been in the beginning. The more you get up and walk, the faster you'll be rid of it.

Best, Christine

Perfectly normal.

I have some gurgling too- usually when I'm eating. Seems like it's my stomach "settling". As far as fullness, it is a way different sensation for me now that I'm banded. I get a slight pain in my chest and feel like I need to burp. Once I burp I'm usually fine. I have learned the hard way not to eat beyond the slight pain in my chest. If I do, I vomit. I never really feel "full", just not hungry.
