Just banded on Friday--Feb. 19

I was banded this past Friday by Dr. Enochs in Raleigh, NC. My surgery was scheduled for 8:45 but I didn't go in until 9:20. Was done in an hour and back home by 1:00pm. No overnight stay for me and things seemed to move along so quickly. I have had absolutely no gas pain. Just really sore in my belly...like I have been kicked in the gut repeatedly. Trying to move around as much as possible and might venture out of the house today.

My stomach is growling as I type this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Protein during the clear liquid stage other than drinking Isopure? That stuff is so gross it's all I can do to get it down. Thanks for any help.

Congratulations on being banded! I'm glad to hear that the procedure went well for you.

I did not have any immediate gas pain, either. The discomfort snuck up on me a few days later. I would make sure you are walking as much as possible so that you continue to feel well. As far as Protein, post-surgery I was drinking Special K Protein drinks. They have 10g of protein and 5g of Fiber in each one. The fiber is also helpful, as you want to get everything in your body moving again. *smile* I believe they come in chocolate, vanilla & strawberry and are 190 calories each.

Good luck on your journey, you'll do great!

Congrats on getting banded. I was banded on 1.27 at UNC-CH by Dr. Oveby. Good new that you're not having gas pains. If you don't have it by now, you should be in the clear.I don't remember the stomach rumbling, but I'd just suggest as many sips of water or crystal lite that you can take. I still struggle w/ drinking enough liquids! Some warm broth may also help. Good luck, get plenty of rest and keep in touch!!

I use Myoplex lite. 20g protien and 170 cal and 5g fiber. They come in chocolate and vanilla, I get them at Walmart. Congrats on starting your journey towards better health!

I was banded on 2/17/10 and I've been using ProCel in my liquid. There isn't any taste, but it makes the food a little thicker.
