Hi and welcome to LBT!

I think the best thing would be for you to just start reading threads and asking specific questions on those threads, even the ones about plastic surgery.

There are lots of experiences that people have shared.

Good luck with your decision!

You can go to lapband.com and there are videos there that explain how it works. Yes it does work atleast for me. Everyone is different with the skin thing. Some people have it some don't. I think it depends on age, how long you have been over weight, and how much excess weight you have. Some people may have it just in their arms or just in their tummy or all over. Personally I would rather the skin than all the problems that come with being over weight.

The band is just a tool. You can be a success or not. It depends on how much work you put into it. Hopefully if you check out that website you will see the complications and stuff but for the most part if you work it, it works. You still have to govern what and how you eat and excersize. I am doing low carb and do about 15 min of excersize a day (that is all my doc ask right now). Preop I lost less than 2 pounds a week, post op I average 3 pounds a week. I haven't hit my sweet spot yet though. I expect after a few fills to lose more than that a week. I deffinatly recommend the lapband. I hope that my father will get it. I just warn people that it does take effort. It is not the magic bullet. If you live anywhere near NE FL I recommend DR. Cywes. He is worth the drive for me.

Hello,Wantitgone27. If you have any questions about the Lap-Band feel free to ask me. I am 2yr5mo post op with awesome weight loss results. started 380, currently im 224. As for the extra skin that can be a problem, plastic surgery may be something i might consider in the future but its really not that bad for me seriously. if you have any questions just ask me
