Dr has hard time finding port

every time I go see the doc for a fill he has a hard time finding the port. I get poked 2-3 times and he roots around with the needle OUCH. I can handle the pain but i am starting to think the port moved or is starting to flip or something. I asked him and he said its fine just hard to find. Im starting to worry hes going to puncture the tubing or something. should I be freeking out or trust him.He seems to be getting the fill in cuz I feel restriction finally but geez

I had a tech that did the same thing...and she'd press so hard on the port that I'd be sore for days after a fill. I finally requested the other tech and now it's a breeze.

I think some people are just a bit more 'inept' at their job. In the case of your doctor, at least he's 'ept' (hehe) at putting in the band.

.

I have a hard port to access and though the first person I went to was great, the person I go to now can get in and out of so much better. I later found out the person I go to now trained the girl I went to before.

I am very fortunate to not have this issue with my port. I have hard to find or get veins so whenever I need lab work I get the dig, root and multipoke thing so I know how you feel... Good luck and I hope things get better for you! Congratulations on the weight loss you have had so far...

I have had the doctor fill me all three times because the attempts of the nurse have failed all three times! I don't even have a fat stomach, and both of them root around like it's not even in the neighborhood! Once it's in, it's no problem, but the pain has brought tears to my eyes each time. "A small sting and a stick" my a@#!
