3 weeks out and my very first stuck situation

Hi all...

I'm about three weeks out from surgery and so far I have lost about 21 lbs since my surgery date...YAY. I'm following my doctor's lap rules to a T, somedays a small t..but all in all, I've been able to put my hunger pains on a shelf and stick to the script. I'm really learning the difference between head hunger and real hunger... not every belly rumble needs to be fed  However, today I had my first mini stuck episode. I was very hungry in the morning and had about half a banana. From taste one, it hit my chest completely wrong and believe me I chewed and chewed. I had so much discomfort in my chest, all I could do was sip hot tea and then I remembered about the wonders of pineapple juice. Thank you all out there that have blogged about that and papaya enzymes for helping w. these stuck situations. I had a few sips and it was like MAGIC. It does make me a little scared about once I start getting fills though and have real restriction. I mean if a soft banana can get stuck, I can't imagine eating any meat or veggies. Nonetheless, I just wanted to share my small weight victory and my first mini band crisis.

All the best and good luck to everyone!!!

Lauren

I has surgery on Dec 15th, so X-mas was hard, jut since them I have been doing great. Sugar free popscicles are my fav and chili from wendy's does good too

Thank you! Also another question how does someone set it up so their ticker automatically shows up on the posts?

Go to the User CP at the top of the screen and then on the left hand side there's a 'signature' option. Cut and paste the code from tickerfactory.com into your signature line.

Mandee,

I am so glad that you said Wendy's chili works.. I think that is my favorite fast food... and it is pretty healthy for fast food...

Equal carbs and Protein and 9 grams of fat.. I figured out this one about 12 years ago when I did the zone diet...

I actually lost 15 pounds eating Wendy's chili....I think it is the protein in it that makes it work....

Maybe I will be able to have a chili once in a while now...

Whew....not everything is getting cut out...:tt1::)

Thanks for sharing..

I need to learn more about this stuck sittuation- how often does this situation come about for someone that is watching to avoid this kinda situation

I am 18 months out and I still have problems with bananas sometimes. Bananas are so soft I think we take a bite that is a little bigger than we should. I think this is it, because when I cut it up to eat in cereal, no problems. If I try to eat it by itself, stuck. You can chew as well as you want, if that bite is not tiny enough, you may get stuck. Just try real small bites the next time you try it.

After restriction, just about every time you 'forget' and take too big of a bite or forget to chew well. Sometimes it just happens because your band is temporarily too tight. Mine is tight in the mornings so I start with a hot cup of tea when I first get up and I pretty much stick to a Protein shake with milk and a banana in it.

Most times I've found if I take a small bite and chew it to mush, then wait, I can tell if I'm going to have further problems with it and I just pass on the rest.
