Yeah. Right now I eat half a yogurt for breakfast, the other half for lunch, a protein drink or 2 of some sort during the day, and then 1/2 cup of soup for dinner. And usually a pudding cup in there somewhere. I've been averaging about 400-500 calories a day. I try to add more, but with all the fluids it's hard to get any more in. It's already hard between the soup and protein drinks and and a yogurt to want anything more. I have to constantly remind myself to drink because I forget. Oh, I do eat a couple few popsicles a day too. -

Zumba today! :thumbup: 6:45/B ff French Vanilla Yogurt, 1/4 bannana, grape nuts 10:30/s Ralph's Sweet & Salty Almond Chewy Bar, Crystal lite pkt 1:15/L Crab salad (mayo & relish) 1:45/s Frigo string cheese-x2 5:30/D Swiss chz burger, onion, thousand island dressing, lettuce, pickles, tater tots x6 w/ketchup, crystal lite pkt May have a snack later 8 cups of liquid for the day as of now. Might do 2 more before bed. Earned 684 extra for exercise today Calorie used 1,309 (had 1,884 to use) -

yesterday: B: 1/2 packet of peach oatmeal, 3 strips turkey bacon L: attempted to eat shrimp pasta - pb:frown: S: 2 oz of yogurt D1: attempted some pizza toppings - pb:frown: D2: attempted brown cow ice cream bar - pb:frown: midnight snack: 2 squares of a hershey bar:thumbup: I guess my fill really kicked in yesterday. I've been scared to eat today so as of now I have not had anything. I have not been hungry either so I may try a protein shake. Workout: none...being lazy. I'm going to get back on track next week.:glare:

br: slim fast optima shake mixed w/ plain yogurt, blueberries and extra protein powder. snack: 1/3 a chicken, cheese, black bean enchilada lunch: 1/2 apple, couple grapes, 1 oz lite caramel, 2 oz diced cheese and a pack of snackwell cookies. (not the best meal - at least there was some protein) dinner: hamburger patty with slice of muenster cheese and some tampenade. i really need to work on my veggie intake!!

Hey there Loralei & JJ Welcome to LBT and the 50+ gang... As to the pre-op diet - I was lucky only had 7 days of it - but during that 7 days I had to do my colonoscopy so that was one day clear liquids and cleansing :eek: and the day before surgery was clear liquids - I was allowed one small meal - meat - salad - oatmeal for bf & soup or shake for lunch - and oh ya some great protein bars for snacks - so all in all mine wasn't too bad - My doc supplied the shakes, soups & protein bars - and I had 4 oz fish & salad for dinner.. Post op I was on full liquids for 10 days then mushies for 10 then soft for 10 and finally regualr - ck out the food thread there are great ideas there. You will find the longer you are on this site that EVERY Doc is diff in what he tells his patients - some have no pre op some have it for a freakin month - some have liquids for 2 days after surgery and move right to reg food. 1st if all you need to follow your doctors orders - the reason for the liquid is that they stiched your stomach around the band and they don't want that distrubed until it's all healed up - and digesting food make the stomach move so the band can slip and you don't want this. On full liquids I was allowed sf pudding fudgecicles creamed soups of course protein shakes - dannon light & fit yogurt to name a few - I found that potatoes soups were a lifesaver for me - you can find them in by the instant mashed potatoes or soup section. Also homemade broth is so much better than canned or boxed - I found homemade soups the best. I make what I call cream of pinto bean soup - make a pot of pinto beans just like you normally would - after they have cooked spoon out the beans and put them in the blender and puree them - then add them back to the broth - wohla cream of pinto bean soup - you can do the same with navy beans or any bean you like - since you are both in the 50+ club I assume you cook (the younger ones now a days don't - they got fat on fast food - where as I got fat on home cooked foods) The band is a great tool - but that's all it is - it does require will power - the will power to be committed to making a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habits -(low fat - sugar free - low carb) and adding some kind of exercise into your life (phyl who post here - has bad knees - she does water arobics) Me personally I follow a Weight Watcher type eating plan as I feel its the most balanced - you budget your calories/points for the foods you want to eat. I could never be an atkins girl - I have to have some carbs. I keep a food diary - it is statistically proven that people who do - do better in their weight lost - it's real easy to forget this bite of this or that... I count calories & protein grams - I go to the gym 4 days a week I eat healthy 98% of the time and allow 2% of my eating for treats - not cheat - I am not dieting - I am just eating healthy - I won't always keep my food diary - once I get to goal - I will quit -but the second I gain 5 lbs - I will start logging my food again - Once I get to goal - I will never and yes I mean never allow more than a 5 lbs weight gain - I will never again say oh it's just 5 lbs - then next month - oh its just another 5 lbs no biggie - well before you know it - you are 250 again:eek: Ok - I guess i have lectured enough :thumbup: don't mean to sound preachy - but I LOVE MY BAND - I LOVE ME FOR DOING THE WORK - I FEEL 10 YRS YOUNGER.. -
YESTERDAY: B: couple bites cream of wheat, grande skinny vanilla latte S: 3/4 slice banana bread w/ maple butter :thumbup: (making for neighbors) L: 1/3 c. hummus w/ assorted veggies(red pepper, snap peas, baby carrots) S: babybel cheese, veggie straws D: 3/4 c. roasted red pepper soup S: peanut butter lowfat frozen yogurt So yes i have been snacking the last few days and frozen yogurt has been involved (and I realized I never posted saturday's food which there was 1.5 beers and 5 fried mushrooms) but nothing to explain how since friday I have gained back the 5 lbs I lost since my small unfill on monday. I am fully aware of how fluid shifts drastically in us - but seriously? Sooo - I'm going to hit it hard working out this week and go back to my post-fill liquid/soft diet for several days. I made my 2 favorite pureed soups (roasted red pepper and garden broccoli) so my freezer is stocked. I don't think I would ordinarily be so obsessed with a few lb. swing but before the 5lb regain - I had actually hit my 1st goal below and was 2 lbs away from the 2nd Today is one of my long days - I'll post later tonight at work what I ate.

I am so hungry and over this liquid!!! I am day I can't even remember -- ok day 11 post op. I think I get to start some extra items like yogurt and creamy Soup after nut on Tuesday. Dreaming of burgers. But also better fitting clothes... Sigh. -

Welcome back everyone.... yesterday coffee w/protein B-greek yogurt w/the rest of my protein L-1 c chili w/ crackers S-1 bite size Hershey S-too much popcorn D-1 1/2 c homemade chili w/ crackers thought I had bought wheat crackers, but they were regular ones. -
yes, i found them @target in the frozen food section - good option rather than making them :regular_smile: which can be time consuming. i make them w/ground chicken or turkey / shredded cabbage, carrots, green onion & hoison sauce. i use wonton wrappers, steam - then freeze in bulk. i take out when wanting a few, pan sear them & use a dipping sauce (i like a spicey tai version or dim sum sauce) nutritional value for 5 off the top of my head is around 200 calories & 12g of protein. i'm sure its' posted a few pages back. yesterday - b- 5.3oz honey greek yogurt s- half tuna wrap l- other half tuna wrap s- ostrich jerky stick d- half chille relleno, few bites of refried beans

Boy it seems like I'm eating a lot! :mad: With the new site that I'm using (myfitnesspal.com) to journal my food, I'm posting everything as you can see because I really want to see just how many calories I'm really eating. This is new for me. Way back when when I tried counting calories, I found it to be to time consuming. But it's easy now! I've calculated my calorie intake to be at 1,200 a day to lose 2 pounds a week.
