Hi Tabbi! I got my referral in April, and had surgery in August. I think you can make the process go a little faster, if you are aggressive and make all your appointments back to back. I was driving down to Ft. Carson (45 min!) twice a week in June to try to get everything done. As soon as they start putting referrals in the system, you can schedule them: wellness (2x), psych (3x), nutrition (3x)

Jane,
I have been seeing Dr. Posner at Kaleida. Based on what they have told me the approval shouldn't be an issue. BMI of 40, sleep apnea, hypertension, pre-diabetic, i'm sure you are familiar. I was told 2-3 days for the approval which would have been Friday but who knows. Can you tell me what to expect pro-op and post-op? Is there anything I can do to make it more comforta...

Hi, my name is Jessi. I had the sleeve done 3 months ago and it is fantastic. No fills, going back to the doctor. Nothing. Have lost 39 pounds and feel great. If you have not had your surgery yet then go to www.drramoskelly-wls.weebly.com. He is fabulous and they treat you like a queen. Plus way under $8000 - a real bonus.

Hi All - I'm getting ready. On June 13 I start my pre-op diet and am trying to get all of my ducks in a row. My surgery date is set for June 27. Any helpful hints, suggestions, encouragement or whatever would be greatly appreciated. I used a site like this almost 3 years ago when I quit smoking and found it to be so much help and yes, I am still nicotine free!

Hey :-)
I am doing fine. I've been stalled for almost a couple of weeks now, but I've been doing a lot of strength training on my total gym and the inches are melting off (50 inches lost so far)!!! You are doing really GREAT :-)

I was off work for two weeks. I felt well enough to go back sooner, but my doctor didn't want me to go back for three weeks. We compromised at two. I work a desk job, so I was only allowed back with the understanding that I wouldn't do any lifting.
This is the BEST THING I've ever done!!! I've lost 47 lbs. and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hey Renee. I'm pretty good. Still having a little trouble getting my fluid in and eating much but it gets a little better each week. I think I just have to accept that I'm gonna be a slow loser, but that's okay as long as I'm losing! How are you? What have you been eating?

800 calories is ok though. Prilosec is so wonderful! Saved me many times! I am down 34lbs (lost 2 lbs overnight) had a 3 day stall at 233.2 but 231.2 this am! woohoo! I am eating normal stuff, but no raw veggies or fruits like you.Nothing has given me too much trouble as of yet.although i did eat about 4-6oz of smoothie too fast and had to stick my fingers down my throat! Yuk! Glad 2 talk 2 u!

I read somewhere not to worry so much about protein the first week, just stay hydrated. I have been drinking water, crystal light, hot herbal tea and trying to get a little protein in with Protidiet Hot Cocoa and Premier Choc Shake. Hang in there - I'm sure every day will get a little easier. I have an appointment with Dr. Hoehn on Wednesday at 1:30. When do you see him?

My surgery date has now been changed to 5/16!! My sister couldn't get away on 6/3. But that's ok, I will be sleeved sooner!!
