Hey there,
I'm so glad your surgery went well!!! I am about two and a half weeks out and LOVE my sleeve. The whole surgery experience was kind of like getting tortured for a few days...lol.. But it all went great. I had no complications and was back to work in a week. Can't wait to hear an update from you!
Take care,
Nikki

Loca shoes is right hahahaha. I haven't worn that high of a heel in a looong time, but admired them on other peeps and I wanted to try them and they went with the outfit
so I got them...WOW $11 for 3 pair??? I should stop by and check that out. I've gone many times before and it always seemed way more expensive than that, so never went back. Figured I could get stuff way cheaper at Ross
. OK I maybe I will stop by today, thanks for the 411

Isn't it a trip how little we eat???? OK you know this is not just for a few weeks or months but FROM NOW ON?? I just said this to my hubby last night. It's amazing!!!! We went to our favorite mexican whole in the wall and shared his plate (huevos rancheros). I had one of his eggs and 2 teaspoons of beans, crazzzzy right???? Before I would have had TONS of chips and salsa and a WHOLE plate to myself. It's kinda hard to wrap my mind around it seriously!!! But that's the way we are ultimatley going to reach our goal and MAINTAIN it

So good to know about the shower! I got home Sun. afternoon.
Today has been my best day, but still not anywhere close to normal. I'm starting to get kinda emotional. I did really good on the liquid the week before, but it seems soooo much harder now! Evey night someone is bringing food for my family, and I just sit and smell it, and can't do a thing about it!! I just keep telling myself that its a little over 2 weeks and I'll start on soft foods. I'm sooo sick of protein. I really didn't think that was going to be a problem, but now I can't stand any of it.
Need prayers!! Thanks!!!

I was glad to read your story. I hope you have a smooth journey. I had alot of setbacks, but I have kept up the fight and finally I am approved for the sleeve. My surgery is Dec. 2.
I am on day 3 of my pre-op diet. my story is posted in "Waiting! Getting closer to having my vsg surgery."

Tomorrow is the de-banding day. I'm scheduled for 1:45, although everytime I talk to someone, they make it earlier than the last person. LOL I should be back home tomorrow evening. I will have my sleeve either the week before you or the same week as you. Are you self-pay or insurance? If your self-pay, I might actually meet you since we'll be at the same facility, Forest Park. That is where I will be tomorrow, I'll let you know about it. I'm excited for you! Talk to you soon.

Hey Chancie! I just had someone come to visit us that brought me Body Fortress Cookies N' Creme from the states all the way to Nicaragua! I am so happy! I can't buy a protein powder here in Nicaragua and I wanted to get this one because you recommended it. Although I just got one so I don't think it will last that long... :-( I had a question. Do you just use it in coffee or have you had it any other way? In water? I'm only 4 weeks out and I didn't know if I should start drinking coffee yet. I'd like to, but everyone seems to tell me to wait. My other question is how do you do with the calories? This does have quite a bit of calories. 2 scoops = 290 calories. If you have two scoops how many calories do you usually have in food each day? You count these calories the same as food right? Thanks so much for your help! By the way, you look great!

No dates yet. Surgery one, band removal, should be within the next 2 weeks, I hope. Surgery two, the sleeve, will hopefully be over my Christmas break so I can recover without having to miss work. I really liked that he wanted to do my revision in 2 procedures to lower my risk of leaks/complications. I'll post when I get my dates nailed down.

Barbara,
I think if I were you and couldn't be on solids before the Holidays, I would wait until right after Christmas. A week should be fine to recover. I will still tired the second week but was able to make it through each day. On day 15, it was like someone flipped a switch and I was back to my normal energy level. I wouldn't wait much longer knowing what I know now. I wish I would have met Dr. Nick years ago.
FYI - tonight we went out for burgers after a late soccer game (remember, I'm 3 months out). My husband ordered a burger and cheese fries. I ate about 1/10 of his burger and few of his fries. I am still stuffed and satisfied. Technically, I cheated, but only ate about a tenth of what I would have eaten prior to surgery. That's what I love about the sleeve, I can still have it just not much of it.

Linda,
Thanks so much for taking time to respond. IT IS SO nice to have someone to talk to who has "been there." The rest of my immediate family doesn't have weight issues - hubbie, kids are all in great shape. My mom, etc... all have weight issues. I am excited about Dr. NIcholson's clinic on Wed. I will let you know how it goes. I am a teacher and hope to do the procedure on 12/28 so I can enjoy the holidays, and have a week to recoup before returning to work. What do you think? Is that enough time to rest before work? Also, I am a bit nervous about a really restrictive diet at the holidays, but I didn't want to wait until summer. I am not morbidly obese, I weigh 195, but I am only 5'2..., I would love to weigh 140ish. I have 55 lbs or so, but I would love to be able to enjoy the summer and wear shorts or maybe even a bathing suit and not be mortified!

I was able to start solid food at 6 weeks. I have been doing really well with it and can each pretty much anything, if I eat small bites and don't eat too fast. I still start my morning with a protein drink too. Liquids seem to go down much easier than food in the morning. Today, I tried a protein hot chocolate mix with my morning coffee. 15 grams of protein in my coffee. Gotta love it. I also ordered the protein latte, can't wait to try it. I just finished working out, I'm off today and will drink my Nectar Protein drink in a bit. I have been bad the last couple weeks with my exercise. I have been working long hours on a project for work - just not enough hours in the day. Luckily, project ended yesterday - back to my normal routine. Good to hear from you. I enjoy reading your posts and following your progress mirror my own. Take care ad have an great weekend. Linda

I am feeling really great, 1 week & 2 days post surgery and I am so pleased with my decision to have the surgery. My surgery took just under 2 hours and I was back in my ward and walking around that afternoon. I had pain for the first 24 hours but it was tolerable with pain relief medication. I have had very little nausea but again I have Zofran to take if I need it. Obviously I am still on liquids but I do not feel hungry at all. I am slowly getting my protein intake sorted, this is a little difficult. It is my 40th birthday today and other than the fact I cant enjoy cake with my family, I feel fantastic! Goodluck to you, get all the information you can and just be positive about the new life journey that awaits.

Hi gals, sorry it took me so long to reply. Can you believe we are all going next week? I started my pre-op today, hope I do well on it. I was on an eating frenzy, so mad at myself. I will start packing my bag probably tomorrow since I am off from work. How are you feeling? I was pretty upset yesterday, lots of tears but handed it over to God last night and I feel relieved. I believe He led me to this point and He will watch over me, over all of us. I can't wait to meet you both!

Good morning. How was yesterday? Hopefully you have had two days of being chocolatefree-- Day 3 will be easier. Remember you enjoy the scale move down more than you enjoy the taste of that chocolate!

Hey Judy!
I was just checking in to see how you were doing? Are you starting to get ready for the VSG? I'm having an awful time...the closer it gets the more I seem to eat. I was wondering if you felt them same or if you were having better luck. I am starting to think about starting the pre op diet a week ahead of time just to get out of this eating craze. Please let me know how you are doing. Look forward to hearing from you.
