NSV: Official medical record change
loridee11 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A fun NSV. While on a call with my Dr. yesterday to check on some other things, she took a couple minutes to update my official medical record. Under issues, I used to have super morbidly obese --- she deleted it Also, on the scale front, officially 20 lbs to goal (which will also be half of my previous weight). -
July 2020 Surgery anyone?
STLoser replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm down 80 pounds from my high weight, and 56 since surgery. I have 13 pounds to go to be below 300. My necklaces fit now without an extender! I can't wear my wedding rings anymore. They're too big. I had to have them resized to a 10 at my highest weight. I'll wait until goal to size them again. I also have clothes that were too small that are now too big! I was able to sit in a booth the other day! My BP is normal and my liver enzymes are half what they were! Congratulations to all of you on your success and your NSV's! July 2020 Surgery anyone?
Double_Me replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to hear everyone is doing well! I had a big scale victory the other day- I'm now over halfway to my goal! As for NSV, I'm in the same boat as @BigSue, where my formerly 'too small' clothes are now mostly too large. I've had to buy a couple of pieces and punch a couple of holes into my pants. I can also feel my feet getting looser in my shoes. Not looking forward to replacing my footwear collection.. hopefully I can get away with wearing larger shoes if I have fuzzy socks on. -
I wanted an all in one like yours, Sophie, though just to my knees.(Love the floral print on the top half of yours.) But because the summer stock wasn’t in yet I ended up with the shorts & long sleeved top set. No finger holes though - I love those too. I think that denim jumpsuit would look fab on you Ms.SSS. I think you should seriously consider getting that one or one like it. Congrats on the NSV, Nermada. I love NSVs. They make you feel just so happy.

Trip to therapist today. P.S. Had an NSV this week at doctor's. The nurse used the regular blood pressure cuff on me without giving it a second thought AND it worked!!😊

Today I "unsubscribed" from Lane Bryant emails! Although they served me very well through the years, no more plus sizes for me. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hit goal today! (Loose skin pics)
ChubRub replied to ChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much! Biggest benefit is definitely the way I'm able to move, run up a flight of stairs, carry in groceries without huffing and puffing. Basically the things that non-obese people take for granted! Favorite snack is greek yogurt, esp Dannon light n' fit caramel apple pie. Best NSV is hard, b/c there have been so many. I would choose buying clothes off the clearance rack. The reason being is that clearance rack clothes always seem to be size S or XS. Now I'm small enough to get the great deals! LOL! -

Congratulations! You look great! What has been the biggest benefit so far? Favorite "go to" meal or snack? Best NSV? -
June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?
abiebaby replied to futurefinemama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So...I've had great progress so far. starting weight 308,surgery weight 288, current weight 219. Plenty of NSVs as well. Now for the downsides: in a bit of a food funk right now. It's a little hard watching my family eat things that i can't (well, really, i can probably eat some, but it would not have good results). I am deathly afraid of carbs, because that has been my downfall in the past. Don't get me wrong: i don't regret the surgery at all! Just need some encouragement sometimes.... -
I went to sleep last night at 195 lbs. This morning, I wake up, I drink a protein shake, and the scale is at 190!! Same spot on the floor, it's a digital scale so I make sure to zero it every time. But still... this scale!! This evening I'll probably come in at 200! I've been trying to weigh myself less and enjoy the NSVs but... damn. Anyone else see HUGE fluctuations in weight overnight?

And a NSV from today. I went shopping for the first time in almost 7 months (last time was pre-Pandemic as most stores are just starting to open here). Last time I was still in plus size and I was so frustrated with the complete lack of options (shopping discount type stores like Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls). Today, there were so many great options - it felt amazing to be able to pick clothes I like v. anything that fit and didn't look terrible. I still have a ways to go so I bought a handful of tops and stopped myself but seriously so excited to be able to wear clothes that are my sense of style!

Hey everyone! Happy Labor Day. Hope you are all well. Just checking in. I’m heading into my week 7. So far so good. Glad I can finally begin to do some intense workouts. Still feel some pain on my left side so I will take it somewhat easy. Lol. I feel so good and loving all the NSV. So far I’ve lost 37lbs since the day of surgery. -
One of my goals for WLS was to be able to go rock climbing with my daughter. Today we finally went and it was awesome!

100lbs for my birthday!
Arabesque replied to Sammi_Katt's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations on your weight loss and happy birthday for next week. I love NSVs. They are so motivating & rewarding. -
Hi there, I am part of the slow losers club. I had my sleeve done March 3rd and I am just hit a 30 pounds loss. So don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone goes at their own pace. I am 56 and was at 250 when I had surgery. I know it's working because I am dropping inches, not so much weight. I've got time I am good about it. At first I was really upset. But trust the process...it will all work out in the end. Enjoy life enjoy those NSV and don't be so hard on yourself...

I've lost 98lbs, and my birthday is in one week. I am almost 8 months post op (will be on 9/6), so maybe I can get 100 for my birthday? It'd be so awesome! I also had a HUGE NSV today- the pants I was wearing in my before picture were a size 28, and I can fit SUPER comfortably into a size 18 as of today! (Almost need a 16 now; definitely gonna get a belt for the first time in my life soon).

Last year I was diagnosed with mixed hyperlipidemia .Got my labs back for 7 months post op . Cholesterol dropped 48 points and I have no sign of hyperlipidemia! All my labs were normal.

Haven’t posted on here in awhile. I am finally starting to get my energy back and feel somewhat normal again. I’m happy with my weight loss, made it to onederland, down 56 lbs in 9.5 weeks. NSV- I had to reset my saved seat position in my car, I can fit in my upgraded wedding ring again after it being too tight for the past five years, Had to tighten my berks since my feet have narrowed, and of course the extreme bagginess of most of my clothes. Still struggling with water and protein, two trips to the emergency room and a hospital stay later and I’m working harder on my water. 😀 Glad to see so many of you doing great! -

What is the best feedback your therapist ever gave you?
Sammi_Katt replied to orange_lily's topic in The Lounge
I got *really* lucky. Both of my therapist's parents had gastric bypass, so she really understands everything I go through and am going through. The best thing she ever told me is that with all the things I've been through to get here (I had a lot of complications after my sleeve), I'm alive and healthy and doing well for myself. I can still have a bad day, but it'll never be as bad as it had been now that I'm getting healthy for myself. She also mentioned that on bad body image days, I should try my best to focus on the fact that this is a *healthy* change for me, even if I feel like I'm still big. NSVs are a huge thing for us, and she tries to make me find one a week to tell her, especially if I was having a bad week. I can always find something, though, so I know something's working, and it's been really helping with my body image because, hey, I *am* making changes, even if my brain doesn't want to accept it sometimes. -
I am officially 7 months post surgery and am incredibly happy with my progress so far. I'm down 122.4 lbs total, and 80.8 since surgery. A few of my NSVs: - The arthritis in my knees causes significantly less pain - I am walking 2 miles most days, and hiking when I get the chance (up to 6 or more miles) - My strength and endurance is increasing. I still get winded and need to take breaks (especially on inclines) but there's no way I could have done some of the hikes I'm doing pre-surgery. - I'm down from a tight 2X to a L or XL. - I have collarbones again Below pics is from shortly after I started my journey (pre-surgery) to this morning.

Am having friends over for drinks on the deck tonight. No worries about mosquitoes here at the moment so you’d be safe @GreenTealael but frost bite is a distinct possibility. Brrrr. Not an OOTD, more a NSV I wanted to share. Yesterday I was putting on some opaque tights & I realised I was standing & bending over to put them on. I used to have to sit down & physically lift one leg up & place it over the other just to pull one leg on. Happy dance.
