    How have you been?

Good to hear from ya!! xxxxxx

    ((((hugz))))

  2. Thanks for the comment! I am still trickling away at it. I had a rough week after my overfill, but doing much better. I would just eat slower. I am in Vegas this working, so I am hoping to be a good girl. Last month when I was here I did really good, but there is one of our DM's leaving this week, so I know there will be a few nights out this time. How is it going for you? I really need to increase my exercise. Just never seems to be enough hours in the day. My traveling should slow down after this trip. I should go to the occasional trip to my home office in Ontario, so I think that will help. I hope all is well with you. Have you gotten another fill yet?

  3. I never heard anything bad from the nurses about my liver they said the surgery went perfect so i guess no news is good news! I just started today on full fluids like cream soups WOO HOO! Although I had a meal replacement shake this morning and I'm still so full that i skipped lunch. I'm feeling a lot better but my port area is SO painful. Everytime I move ..but its getting better. I have already lost 6.5 lbs in one week. I hope this continues to go that fast. So how are your nerves?

  4. Hey Shron,

I do have very good restriction with 8cc. I was really struggling to lose until this last fill, then I had a little surge again. It definitely made a difference.

I would call and see if you doc will give you a fill.

I'll be offline for the next two weeks. But will check back on here the first week in Dec. Good luck to you!

  5. Yeah in less then 2 weeks you will be in bandland. Good for you. A little advice after surgery you are going to sleep. As soon as you get up go walking it helps so much with the gas and also take the GAS X gel tablets they work quicker. Tell you husband to give you back massages that helped me so much. I didn't have alot of the gas pain that everyone talked about. Good luck!! KEEP ME POSTED!!!!!

  7. Hey! Sorry I have been mia. I started a new job two weeks ago and it has been kicking my butt. I guess I am not use to being busy 24.7 at work lol. All is good. and you?

  8. Do you have alot of weight to lose? I started at 273 and I have lost 26 pounds so far. I hope to lose the 10 pounds they want me to lose and another 10 or so before Christmas. It will be awsome.

I'm going to go to as many support group meeting they have at first. I love these boards to see how people are feeling and whats working for them. It's been nice to see what foods have pro & cons too.

My mother in law went to Mexico this summer. She's lost about 30 pounds but is still eating everything and says she's not full. I think she needs another fill. She doesn't have doctors to really follow her and give support like we will. Good luck next week.

  9. Hi Andrea. I work at Nadine Janet Salon and Spa in Medford. I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm shooting for Jan. Lapband with Dr. Goldstein. I belong to New Beginnings which has support group 2'xs a week I love it!! Anytime you want to talk just let me know. What kind of surgery did you have and when? Are you feeling ok? Hope to talk to you soon. Kim

  10. thanks so much! less than a week away... I can finally add nervous to my mixture of emotions! but... mostly just excited. and impatient. :)

  11. I've only had one fill...when I went in for my second fill I had lost quite a bit more than 1-2 pounds a week so they decided not to fill any more yet...I'm going to go in sometime this week...I think I need one now :D

  12. Hey! I was banded the same day as you. I am also down around 30 pounds. My 2nd fill is next week and I can't wait because I have NO restriction what so ever! How many fills have you had?

  13. Hello! I have been doing pretty good with the water but I'm having a tough time getting all of my protein in. When do you go back to work? I'm only scheduled off for one week but I wish it were two. I'm still a little weak. I go for my one week follow-up tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

  17. Hello. JAZZY4HEALTH there...Call me Yiv. I just saw this site and thought I would check it out. I would love a buddy of sorts on this journey I have begun. I do not know what process you went through, but here is an overview of mine. Going through UMASS Med Weight Center in Worcester, Mass. They required attending the informational (at least one) meeting, then began the appts. Intakes: medical, behavioral and nutritional. After completion began the Pre-Surgery Skills Group Mts. (2 behavior change and 2 nutrition). On Wed I will attend my 3rd mtg, the 19th my 4th. 20th I can call to schedule my follow-up w/behaviorist. Approx w/in 2 wks from call. Then about 2 wks later the appt. with the doctor at which time the surgery information will be narrowed down and scheduled. They say that is about a 4-6 week window.

Any pre-surgery diet suggestions you can give would be welcome. Or any other input. I hope that you can be my Band Buddy. Look forward to hearing from you.

  18. The other day when I logging into my computer the home page was different and said I was a new user. I tried to login, but could not remember my password. So I did a new login in. If you can tell me what my old password is, I would like to keep that jacobsgram because it has my information in it and my ticker tape!

I will be out of my office at vavery@yorkpolice.org, for a week, but you can e-mail me at gingiavery@yahoo.com

    Thanks you and I'm sorry.

  19. okay they need to go ahead and fill my band..lol i feel alot better, this is the end of week 2 post -op and i'm starting to feel and hear the hunger pains. the restriction is pretty much gone and i don't get moved up to mushies until next week. i hope they do something FAST !

  20. Good luck..I started the process in Aug and have completed my dietary requirements from the dietician and my insurance. I have tried for years to lose the weight and have suffered from my thyroid issues as well. I found out that I will have to pay $11k out of pocket as my insurance only covers $5K.....uugh! Well, tomorrow, I have my pschy eval tomorrow and am nervous. Things are moving fast as I have my blood work and ekg on Tuesday, 11/11. Once these two are complete, I will have my case reviewed and then meet with the surgeon and should be scheduled by the 1st week in Dec. Has Im just nervous and feel that I can now begin to live my life at age 37 once I lose the weight. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks

  21. Hello Laurie: All is well with me. I am drinking lots of protien and getting lots of rest. Keeping stress at bay and keeping busy at work. I recommend drinking the ISD New Whey protien bullets. They have various flavors, with 42 grams of protien in a 3.1 ounce serving. It goes down quick and it is very filling. I also like the Isopure drinks with 40 grams of protien.

I have lost 15 pounds thus far by drinking those products, but honestly I have slipped on the pre-op diet, but I am still losing weight. It is hard to believe that my surgery is next week. I have been so busy that I have not had time to think of the procedure. This is my 10th surgery, so I am not afraid of being in the operating room. This Friday I have the EKG and blood work done. I work on Monday and then Tuesday is the surgery. I will let you know how it goes when I get home from the hospital stay.

Where are you at with the process???

  22. Hi, San Diego Mom -

I'm feeling much better now. I don't have any port pain but you are correct, that is normal. I went back to see him a week after surgery. My fill appointment is on the 17th. How about you? I'm realizing that I'm scared to eat anything because I'm afraid of slippage. How do you feel about that? Honestly, I started the mushy stage a few days early because I couldn't handle liquids anymore. Maybe that's why I have such a fear. I'm really just focusing on results and I will stick to the doctors diet from now on. Sorry about the delay in my response....I just noticed you sent this message. Take care.

  23. Hi Lisa,

I just now saw this !! Congrats on getting banded very soon :)!! Yes the liquid diet is tough,I was only on it for a week and I did have a hard time because I was hungry but the biggest piece of advice I can give you ,is to keep an eye on the big goal!! That's what I had to keep reminding myself,I had to keep remembering that this was going to be a lifestyle change, which I firmly believe that's one of the reasons why they want us on the liquid diet before hand. I had to come to the acceptance that I have to look at food differently and look elsewhere for that comfort.

You can do this,Lisa!! I'm rooting for you :) !!!

I never saw the PM ....hmmm.

  24. Hey girl! Nice to meet you, my name is Lisa and I am from Bakersfield...I know, I don't know how I handle the summers here either...but, all my family is nearby, so it's a little hard to leave...3 weeks post-op, CONGRATULATIONS! How's it going? I'm actually getting banded Nov. 18th, and let me tell you, I am ready to shoot someone at close range, I am going nuts with this liquids only thing 2 weeks before surgery. I'm on day two of the 2 week liquid diet and I've cheated both days! AHHH!!! I had a cup of soup in the evening of day 1 and I had a little more than a 6 inch Subway sandwich with chips and a soda...I was at an evening training from 3-7pm (I'm a teacher) and they brought in the sandwiches for our dinner...I tried to go to my happy place in my head, but girl...those sandwiches just floated ever so gently right into my hands...I feel sooooo bad, but it tasted sooooo good...I have to STOP. Refocus. Any words of wisdom? I'm sorry to ramble!

  25. hello it's Alicia how are you doing? i'm just checking in on you since it's been awhile to see how you are doing? i had mine on the 24th and really did'nt have all the pains that i had worked myself up to thinking i would feel. i do have the 1 larger incision still, the tape has came off the smaller ones and you really can't tell they are there. where the port is still hurts now and then depending on how i turn and if i sneeze..lol i think i lost 11lb on the pre-op liquid and another 11 the week after my surgery, so you did well with that. i must confess that i broke down the other day and had 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes. i still have 1 more week before i get moved up to mushies but i'm really starting to be over this liquid stuff. it has gotten old although i understand the importance behind it. i think it satisfied me more mentally than anything, boy it's been sooo hard ! i'm still off from work and don't go back to the Dr. until the 10th so i've started back on just the treadmill. i saw the pics of the belly scars, so how has yours healed so far ?
