Well IMO you really came close enough to say you pretty much did make it.
It is so true, I'm such a streaky loser that I'll lose 6-7 Lbs in a matter of days then nothing for weeks... it's ok though! I know I'm losing! I'm even sitting here in a pair of jeans I absolutely couldn't fit before surgery, and right now they look like I got poopy pants... haaa!!!

Hey Deb, If you have time, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind telling me some of the typical foods that you are eating now that you're a little farther out...my body is really stalling on me, and I am curious what others are doing who are still steadily losing weight! Any thoughts?

Hi Mrspalmours I want to know what are my options on how to get an expedited appeal with a successful approval. I have UHC EPO and I live in Fl this is my story I have UHC EPO and I live in Fla. I was denied last week for wls. The reason was because they didn't have my BMI nor my 5 year history. I notified Dr. Jawad's office about this and they assured me that they sent everything over....

YAY! CONGRATS!!! I have an appointment next week to go over the pre-op diet and all other pre-op info. I don't have to do as long of a liquid diet since I already have a lapband (although it hasn't worked in three years-LOL). I will let you know if I find out anything new. Do you think you will have your surgery in December?

Hey Becca,
I'm going back to school on Monday. Kids return on Tuesday. Fortunately, it's a short week. The week following is final exams, so I only have 3 classes that whole next week. How long are you taking off?

About me...I'm finally trying to think about me a bit and in a huge way want to get healthy and happy again. I have married 19yrs and have four children. I have not told really many people about my surgery in four weeks. I wanted my children to know. I 'm not good at keeping secrets that have to do with myself. I just hate confrontation and I don't feel that everyone would be all for it.

My Mom had young jeans. LOL. Where are you from and where did you have your surgery? I have two granddaughters and they live in Atlanta. I am visiting them now. I live 15 miles outside of Augusta Ga. I use to crochet and make all kinds of crafts, but I o nly sew now. My sign in name is what I testify that I am blessed. The number three means trinity in the bible.

Just to keep you up to date I have lost 112lbs as of today. I have now moved to Florida and taking life 1 day at a time. I lost my job 3 weeks ago and I felt as if a burden was lifted. That was a big suprise. Keep in touch!

I never made it out of the hospital before the leak was detected. I was 2 days post-band to sleeve revision. The leak was surgically repaired as soon as it was detected with heavy mattress suturing, and then I went those days without food or liquids. Once I could start "food", I did 17 days of clears, 1 week of full liquids then onto mushies.

I did have a leak, and was completely NPO (nothing by mouth)for 22 days. I had a pic line in my arm that fed me 1800 calories a day for over 2 weeks. It is emotional, and very mentally/physically draining, but you will heal and recover. Trust your doctors, and once you are back on liquids, stick to the post-op guidelines. Hang in there, it'll get better each day.

Every doctor is different. The hospital I had it done at is used by many different bariatric doctors, and they said that most of the doctors remove the drainage tube before the patient leaves the hospital, but my doctor prefers to do it a week later.
